Why is this photo part of the site design?

A seemingly endless staircase is featured prominently in my January 2008 release from Samhain, A SPELL FOR SUSANNAH, which is based on the fairy tale "The 12 Dancing Princesses".  In the story, after the eldest princess (and heroine) Susannah discovers she can work fairy magic, she unlocks the door to an enchanted realm that's just chock full of princes who like to...dance.  Whenever the princesses feel like cutting the rug and ruining some slippers, they have to tromp down stairs upon stairs upon stairs, which is really challenging at the end of a long night, or so they tell me.
